About the Competitive R&D Grant

The noble aim of ICSETEP is to improve the socio-economic condition of Bangladesh by establishing more relevant higher education programs in CSE/IT, ensuring quality, efficiency, competent graduates, and cutting-edge research capacity to meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). This initiative also focuses on developing technology entrepreneurship to strengthen Bangladesh’s leadership in the IT sector.

Among the objectives of ICSETEP, increasing industry relevance in research and entrepreneurship development are particularly important. The Competitive Research & Development (R&D) Grant is a key component of ICSETEP to achieve these objectives.

Funding Focus Areas

• Industry Collaboration: Address industry problems or develop new products/services (50% of total funding).
• Interdisciplinary R&D: Combine IT solutions with other areas such as medicine, education, or public services (25% of total funding).
• Cutting-edge CSE/IT Research: Advance technology and scientific knowledge.
• IT solutions addressing disability-related challenges.: Create innovative solutions for accessibility and inclusion.
